  • being Humble

If we were truly humble, we would not be forever searching higher paths on the mountain tops. We would look in the simple places, in the practical things that need to be done.

True, these are places in a world of falsehood. If the world only had a little more light, none of this would be necessary.

But the soul that knows its place knows that the great and lofty G‑d is not found at the summit of mountains, but in the simple act of lending a hand or a comforting word in a world of falsehood and delusions.

  • A catholic witness to the Tru Jesus (Yeshua)!

Professor Didier Pollefeyt of The Catholic University of Leuven (the oldest continual Catholic University in the world) stated his view at the Cathedral Notre Dame on October 1996 as follows:

‘The way Jesus will come as the Christ and the Redeemer of the world will depend on the way Christians re-present Him in the present. When Christians are not able to bring His redemption to the world today, especially in relationship with the Jewish people, I'm afraid that at the end of times, they will not meet a triumphalising Messiah, but what I would like to call a `’weeping Messiah', a Messiah weeping for the injuries and the unredeemedness Christians caused, especially to His own people. Then it could end with the fact that indeed not Christians, with their triumphalistic Messianic perceptions, but the Jews will be able to recognize as the first one's the Messiah as the Savior of the World.’

At a pre Christmas service in 2001, Father Dr. Reimund Beiringer, also of the Catholic University of Leuven, began his sermon with the following opening remarks: ‘when Jesus comes back he will be circumcised, he will not be able to eat at my home because it is not kosher and will look at this church and ask the Rabbi where can he find a synagogue’. The above remarkable statements confirm that Jesus the Jew continues to accept the symbol of Jewishness – the circumcision – by eating kosher he continues to observe Jewish ritual law and by attending a synagogue he continues his Jewish persona. This embodies the total antithesis of Rejection theology. Father Reimund personally asked me to attend this church service and pointed me out as the person Jesus would ask for a synagogue and at whose home he could eat.

  • in the most lowly of places

You might think that the more lowly the created being, the lower the divine spark it contains.

Just the opposite: Only the highest of sparks could descend to the lowest of places and retain their power to sustain such an existence.

That is why the deepest truths are so often found in the darkest of places.

  • Giving Yourself

    Giving Yourself

    By Binyomin Adilman

The Book of Leviticus, contains some of the most difficult subjects in the Torah. The concept of sacrifices is one that is very foreign to the "modern" mind. There are, however, many essential lessons to use in our divine service.

"Speak to the Children of Israel and say to them, when a person from [amongst] you will offer up a sacrifice to G-d, from the cattle, herds or flocks should the sacrifice be brought." (Lev. 1:2)

The Midrash, however, interprets the verse to give us a deeply challenging insight. "Speak to the Children of Israel and say to them, when a person from you will offer up a sacrifice to G-d...." - G-d wants us, not just our sacrifices.

In fact, every sacrifice had to be accompanied by genuine repentance before it was accepted. The priest was able to tell if the person was sincere in his feelings. If not, he would signal to the administering Levites to sing a soul-stirring melody that would arouse the sacrificer to genuine repentance. Only then would the sacrifice be acceptable.

Only when one gives up something of himself does he make a sacrifice that is pleasing to G-d.

"The priest shall burn the entire animal on the altar as a complete fire offering, a pleasing fragrance to G-d."(Lev. 1:9)

Is it possible that the Torah would have us believe that the stench of burning animal flesh, bones and feathers is a pleasant fragrance? Yet when the offering is brought with the appropriate intentions of humility and teshuva, then, to G-d the smell is indeed fragrant. What seems offensive to us may indeed be a pleasing fragrance for G-d.
